Repair and restore old/damaged photos

One of the skills I have learnt over the years is how to digitally manipulate photos to fix and/or improve them. See below for the things I can do:

  • High-definition scan of your photo to digitise it - $5.00 or you can email your scanned photo (300dpi) and I will repair it and email it back to you.
  • Convert sepia pictures to black & white and improve the contrast and clarity, improve and sharpen colour photos - free.
  • Repair damaged photographs - remove creases, scratches, tears or stains on the photo - cost starts at $10 and increases depending on the amount of damage and estimated length of time ($20 per hour) to repair. If you send me a scanned image I can give you a quote!
  • Remove backgrounds or add new backgrounds from another picture - $15.00
  • Remove people and/or add others from another photograph - make a montage from a collection of photos (birthdays, weddings, fishing trips, in memory of, sporting achievements etc) - $15 for each photo with people be moved.
  • Enlargements of an original print - $5.00

Here are some examples of my work:

Photo of 1950s shop with three very large brown spots

1950s shop fully restored

I spent 4 hours repairing this photo but it was a fairly extreme case.

The set below is a case where only minor repairs were done - about 15 minutes worth.

Modern photo of my artist friend Fergus Collinson with the two artworks he created. I have enhanced the photo to remove the distracting background and also cropped it a small abount. I spent 10 minutes on this one.

Here is an other old photograph which I have restored. The missing parts were, obviously, the biggest challenge, yes there was enough material in the photo to recreate the missing parts. I spent about an hour on this one.
